Zee, Star in joint venture for TV channels distributionA new joint venture company is formed by Zee Entertainment and Star India, named as Media Pro Enterprise India which will equally share distribution. It is expected that with this move, distribution process of television channel in India will take a new turn. It will also create efficiencies in value chain and address piracy issues.

The new company will formed by Rs 16000-20000 crore pay-television subscription market in India through a combined strength of 68 channels. Zee Turner and Star Den Media Services will equally own the company.

Last year also the same process was done by television broadcasters Network18 Media & Investments and Sun TV Networks in which both the companies join to make another company Sun18.

Punit Goenka, managing director & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, at a media conference said that mainly this joint venture will focus on curbing piracy, reducing irregularities in the analog market, introduce transparency and pick up the pace of digitization in India.

BMW introduces 3-Series Touring

Germany-based luxury car maker BMW recently took wraps off its fifth-generation 3 Series Touring, which is more spacious inside than ever before.

The all-new 2013 3 Series Touring sedan is longer than the predecessor by 97mm, and its height is 11mm more at 1429mm.

Its 50mm longer wheelbase than the previous Touring allows it to provide an extra 35 litres of storage with the rear seats up. With the seats folded down, the new vehicle promises 1500 litres of space in total.

The 2013 3 Series Touring will be available in a choice of three advanced, powerful, yet economic engines.
