Dismantling Fukushima Nuclear Plant might take three decades

Hitachi Ltd. (6501) along with General Electric Co. (GE) gave in a strategy for dismantling the crippled Fukushima Dai- Ichi plant that had been built with their help with Japanese engineers struggling to contain the most disastrous nuclear crisis since the Chernobyl incident.

The proposal even involves Exelon Corp. (EXC) and Bechtel Corp., and according to Yuichi Izumisawa was given in on 8th April 8. Izumisawa is a spokesman at Hitachi based in Tokyo, Hitachi being the second biggest producer of nuclear reactors in Japan. However, he did not specify the elaborate details of the plan.

Hitachi launches external storage devices in India

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has launched a new range of external storage devices in the Indian market.

The devices are from Fabrik, a firm acquired by Hitachi last year. The product offering includes a portable USB drive, SimpleTOUGH and two Hitachi X Series drives; Hitachi XL Desktop Drive and Hitachi X Mobile Drive.

The Vice president, Asia Pacific, Hitachi, Mr. Robert Chu expressed that the customers look for quality and durability when they purchase hard drives.
