Gujarat NRE Coke: Coke Price to Continue Being Same

Gujarat NRE Coke has been under a lot of stress for the previous one month, as coking coal prices have seen a collapse. Arun Kumar, Jagatramka MD of the corporation however says that there is no slump even though coking price has halted at being going up any further.

He states that there has been no fall in the price of coke, but a mere break in the uptrend because of the international catastrophe of the Euro problem. In addition to this, the industrial growth will take over the market place.

In Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat NRE Coke said it will invest around Rs 1,000 crore in an upcoming one million tone coke plant. Gujarat NRE Coke Chairman Arun Jagatramka said “We will invest Rs 800 crore to Rs 1,000 crore in the AP plant, acquisition of land was underway and work on the project would begin by December this year. The plant would require 500 acres of land. The Andhra Pradesh plant, catering to the needs of user industries located on the east coast, would be ready by 2013”.

Gujarat NRE coke sketches expansion plan worth Rs 300 crore Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd, the largest independent producer of Met Coke in India, has planned an investment of about Rs 300 crore in expansion projects across Gujarat over the next 4-5 years.

The company will invest Rs 120 crore in a 200 megawatt wind power project and Rs 100 crore in a 200 MW thermal power plant.
