GE Healthcare, the $17-billion healthcare unit of GE has decided to invest $50 million to develop low cost diagnostic imaging products for Indian market. GE wants to tap on the enormous global attention Indian medical device and solutions is getting. Like its counterpart Phillips and Siemens, GE intend to concentrate more on developing affordable cardiac solutions for Indians as they are more prone to heart diseases.

Leading marketer of healthcare information technology GE Healthcare has inked an MOU with Health and Family Welfare Dept, Government of Gujarat.

The proposed MOU has been signed for providing advanced medical technology in all the teaching hospitals/medical colleges of Gujarat under the PPP model.

Under the arrangement, GE Healthcare will set up advanced diagnostic imaging facilities like BrightSpeed Computed Tomography and High Definition Magnetic Resonance systems in each centre.
