GAIL’s Q2 net profit increases 19% to Rs 1,094 cr

On Monday, India's state-owned gas utility GAIL reported that its second quarter net profit figures witnessed an increase of 19 percent year-on-year, to Rs 1,094 crore, thanks largely to an improvement in performance in gas, liquid hydrocarbons, and petrochemicals.

According to the information shared by BC Tripathi, the chairman and managing director of GAIL, the company's `profit after tax' increased 15 per cent to Rs 2,079 crore for the first half of the financial; with the turnover being Rs
18,566 crore - marking a leap of 22 percent from the same quarter last year figures.

State-run gas major GAIL has announced its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and has managed to register an impressive net profit.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs 910.82 crore for the quarter that ended in 31st March, 2010. It was reported to be Rs 630.02 for the fourth quarter last year. This net profit figure has grown up by 44.57% as compared to the same quarter in the preceding year.

GAIL’s annual net profit jumped 31% to be at Rs 911 crore compared to Rs 630 crore last year. Its net sales were also up by 6% at Rs 6,522 crore compared to Rs 6,128 crore last year.

It sales grew 9% at Rs 27,035.30 crore from 24,659.37 crore last year. Its consolidated net profit was up 15% at Rs 3,327.83 crore from Rs 2,826.35 crore last year.

Indian Natural Gas Group, chairman said that the company aims to spend 80 billion rupees in the current fiscal year, the bulk of it on expanding its pipeline network. It may be noted that GAIL’S turnover during the fourth quarter stood at Rs 6,522 crore, up 6 percent form the corresponding quarter during the last financial year and during the quarter, the revenues from LPG transmission registered an increase of 23 percent to Rs

State-run Gail India has posted a surge of 44.57 percent in its net profit to Rs 910.82 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2010, against Rs 630.02 crore of the corresponding periods a year earlier.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, it said that ,the total proceeds of the government-run gas efficacy augmented to Rs 6,670.69 crore during the January-March period of FY'10, from Rs 6,345.95 crore of the same quarter a year ago.

A final dividend of 55 percent (Rs 5.50 per share) for FY'10 has been declared by the company.

KG basin Gas Supply to be Operational From 2012

India's largest gas transmission and marketing company Gail (India) Ltd is reported link the southern states with gas pipelines by 2012, with the gas supply from Krishna-Godavari basin, Union Petroleum Secretary, S Sundareshan revealed here Saturday.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had reportedly called for a meeting of Reliance Industries Ltd(which owns the gas fields) and Gas Authority of India Ltd (which lays pipelines) about ten days ago, telling them to initiate the project in a scheduled manner.

Zuari Industries signs agreement with GAIL

Zuari Industries has revealed that it has inked gas supply pact with Gas Authority of India (GAIL) for supply of re-liquefied natural gas (RLNG) for its fertilizer facility.

The sources close to company said that the RLNG will be utilized as feed stock in place of Naphtha for company's facility situated at Zuarinagar, Goa.

The anticipated date of supply of RLNG is Jan. 01, 2013.

Zuari Industries is active in making and distribution of ammonia, fertilisers, pesticides as well as urea. The company also engages in selling of seeds.

PSL bags order worth Rs 210 crore from GAIL

PSL bags order worth Rs 210 crore from GAILPSL Ltd, leading pipe manufacturing conglomerate, has announced that it has won an order worth Rs 210 crore from GAIL India Ltd.

According to sources, GAIL has placed this order with PSL for providing Pipe Coating Services for the entire Dahej-Vijaipur Pipeline Upgradation Project (DVPL-II).
