The CEO dismissed some rumors that suggested that the launch would likely be delayed to November and said that the tablet will be released on time. However, the company has not announced certain release dates for the tablet.

Sony India has announced the launch of Vaio E-series of laptops with varied screen sizes and sleek color patterns in the Indian market.

The VAIO E series notebooks are included in the EA series with 14-inch models while EB series comprise of 15.5-inch models.

Masaru Tamagawa, managing director, Sony India, said, ''The E-series with vibrant and colourful looks are perfect for everyday browsing.''

Popular computer tablet iPad from Apple has finally hit the international markets today. The Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the tablet are available to retailers around the world and the buyers are queuing up in front of Apple stores to get their own iPad.

Hundreds of people waited for more than 40 hours in Sydney's flagship Apple Store to be the first one's get an iPad outside the US. People wanted to buy the device directly from the store instead of waiting for the online order to deliver that would take weeks.

Gadget blog accidentally finds Fourth Gen iPhone

A blog site focusing on latest gadgets claims that it accidentally found the fourth generation iPhone on the floor of a bar in San Jose, California. It said that the smartphone was wrapped in a standard third generation iPhone case.

"Right now we don't have a ton of info on the device in question, but we can tell you that it apparently has a front-facing camera, 80GB of storage, and isn't booting at this point," said the site's report on the device found.

The Qwerty handset features many multimedia features such as a Camera with a resolution of 2 Mega Pixels, FM Radio, Music Player and Video Player with Recording.

OliveWiz is not behind in social networking connectivity as it offers access to sites like Twitter and Facebook together with IM support for MSN and Yahoo. It also has inbuilt Opera Mini browser for fast web access.

HCL launches upgraded Beanstalk desktops

HCL Infosystems has announced the launch of upgraded version of its Beanstalk desktops aimed at the home personal computer segment in the country.

The new Beanstalk will come in three new models; Beanstalk Classic, Beanstalk Ultima and Beanstalk Xtreme each having its own target market. The computer will be powered by Core i3, i5 CPUs while the Beanstalk Ultima and Beanstalk Xtreme will be the first desktop in the country to run on i7 processor.

All the computers will run Windows 7 OS. The new Beanstalk range will be priced between Rs. 39,990 to Rs. 85,000.

FCC to announce new broadband outline

The Federal Communications Commission is to come out with a new outline as recommendations for the national broadband plan.

The general counsel of the FCC's broadband task force, Phoebe Yang said on Wednesday the commission will prepare more than 40 FCC proceedings in next year and half. The proceeding will be relating to various aspects such as rule-making proposals and notices of inquiry.
