United Phosphorous acquires DuPont's Mancozeb biz

On Wednesday, United Phosphorous announced that it has taken over the non-mixture mancozeb fungicide business of agro-chemical company, DuPont.

This has been done so that United is able to strengthen its hold on the fungicide business. This is aimed at marketing chemicals for the high-variety crops of South and Central America.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. This puts a question mark on the inventory as well as on the manufacturing and production facilities in Columbia.

DuPont announces more investment for its R & D centreDuPont India Private Ltd has been chalking out plans to expand its operation in the emerging market of India by making investment in the key areas of agriculture, infrastructure, energy, automotive and some other emerging fields. The firm which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of E. I. DuPont Nemours and Company has also announced to double its operations at its R&D centre, DuPont Knowledge Centre (DKC), located in Hyderabad.
