UAL Corp.'s United Airlines and Continental Airlines Inc’s merger was approved by the United States Antitrust Regulator said Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. With Monday’s announcement that the two airliners are merging will give them leverage in contract negotiations, Continental’s pilots, flight attendants and mechanics are already in talks, and its ramp workers recently joined the Teamsters and launched negotiations.
