Bajaj All Set to Launch 4-Seater Quadricycles

While four-seater "quadricycle" was being planned to be brought out by Bajaj Auto since a long time, the company now is ready to launch a total of 5,000 units of the same from its Aurangabad plant.

The vehicle has been codenamed as RE60. As many as 5, 000 units are being planned be rolled out a month to see a good start.

The company told that the government had given it an in-principle go-ahead, but a government-appointed committee's report could only allow them for commercial production. The committee, as per the findings, has been formed so as to define the vehicle's category.

Ratings of Bajaj Auto have been downgraded by analysts at top three global brokerage firms. Due to recent run-up prices, lack of demand in the auto sector, challenging competition and increasing fuel prices the ratings of Bajaj Auto Have been downgraded so far in the month of March.

JP Morgan Securities downgraded the ratings of Bajaj Auto from "neutral" to "underweight". Moreover, it has cut the target price to Rs 1,800 from previous 2,060. It said that competition is becoming intense everyday and rivals like MotoCorp Ltd and Honda Motor Co Ltd are likely to raise their capacity.

Bajaj Auto: Exports will ‘outstrip’ domestic sales in near future

Reporting a record turnover in its quarterly results on Friday, Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) said that it was looking at a growth in its business, and that its focus currently was sharpened on its exports to surpass domestic sales.

Drawing attention to the fact that, as of now, Bajaj Auto's international market is contributing more than 36 percent to its total vehicle sales - two-wheelers as well as three-wheelers -, the Pune-based company said that increasing domestic and overseas sales volumes was just one aspect of the company's strategy revolving around potential growth in business.

Bajaj Auto sales rise 18% in May

Bajaj Auto sales surged in motorcycle segment by 18% touching its highest ever sales of 3,17,989 units in May.

The country's second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto said in a statement that in the same month last year the company had sold 2,69,488 units.

Company has also revealed a growth of 32.15% in exports by recording its highest ever exports for May at 1,26,818 units against 95,964 units in May 2010.
