Private carriers suffered losses worth Rs 2,444 crore during last fiscal

Air DeccanThe Government proclaimed on Thursday that the leading airlines in India had suffered an aggregated loss of almost Rs 2,445 crore in the 2007-08 fiscal.

Air Deccan, now christened as Kingfisher Red, recorded the maximum loss of about Rs 798.3 crore, while its parent carrier Kingfisher met losses of approximately Rs 408.9 crore.

Value carrier, Jetlite had suffered a loss of Rs 441.5 crore, where as Jet Airways met a loss of Rs 253 crore in the year 2007- 2008.
