Activision, EA hit out-of-court settlement over execs' leaving

Gaming giants Activision Blizzard Inc. and Electronic Arts (EA) Inc. agreed to settle a lawsuit over executives' leaving out of court on Wednesday.

Activision had accused EA of inappropriately recruiting two of its executives who had overseen the production of the hit video title "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."

Activision had claimed EA met secretly with its two executives, viz. Vincent Zampella and Jason West, while they were still working on "Modern Warfare" projects at Activision.

Popular fast selling franchises by the Activision Blizzard Inc. were a factor in the company’s revenue this quarter. The “World of Warcraft” and “Call of Duty” franchise saw a consistent growth in their sales.

The growth was more than what Wall Street or the company themselves expected.

Activision supposedly made $381 million in the March quarter from $189 million. The company saw an increase in 33%, from $981 million to $1.31 billion this quarter. Shares rose from 14 cents a share 30 cents a share.
