Mukesh and Anil Ambani to reunite at late Dhirubhai’s 80th birth anniversary
Estranged billionaire brothers Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani will reunite this Wednesday at the family function that has been planned to mark the 80th birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani.
The function, which will take pace at late Dhirubhai Ambani's ancestral village of Chorwad in Junagarh district, will also bring the entire Ambani clan together for the first time in fifteen years.
Family matriarch Kokilaben, who has already reached the ancestral village to oversee preparations, said that the presence of Mukesh and Anil at the function proves that the brothers are together.
Explaining her point, Kokilaben said, "There is love among the brothers. How do you think they are coming together?" A senior Reliance Industries official said Mr. Anil would arrive on Tuesday morning, while Mukesh will hit the place in the afternoon.
Mukesh and Anil had split in 2002, after the death of their father. The differences led to the entire family business's division in 2005. Later in 2010, a Supreme Court ruling forced the two estranged billionaire brothers to come back to the negotiating table, where they agreed to scrap the non-competition agreement that had been one of the main sources of clash.
