Lenovo new IdeaPad S10-3t to heat up competition

PC maker, Lenovo has launched its new generation touch tablet netbook IdeaPad S10-3t in the Indian market increasing competition in the segment which has already seen many new launches and is waiting for the big launch of iPad sometime later. Other contenders in the market are HP Slate and Notion Ink's Adam.

The netbook has a LED based 16:9 display and its screen measures 10.1 inches. It runs on Intel Atom N450 Processor and its hard drive has a capacity of 250 GB. The netbook is powered with 8 cell battery that offers a long usage and standby time. Lenovo claims that the battery offers 7 hours of 'balanced' mode and 9 hours of 'super energy saver' mode.

It features a 1.3M web camera, 1GB 204 Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Memory, high-speed Wi-Fi and DirectShare feature. The DirectSharing allows users to connect it with other laptops and transfer content without the need for internet. As for the Audio features, the device has stereo speakers and Dolby Headphone audio.

Lenovo is also offering mapping software, Active Protection System to protect HDD from bumps and shocks and face recognition software.

The netbook is one of the cheapest tablets to be launched in the country and comes with a price tag of Rs 30,740.

AirAsia's CEO Tony Fernandes on Wednesday revealed the identity of the person who will pilot the Malaysian airline's India operations.

Fernandes, the promoter of AirAsia, had announced in March that the airline had selected a very smart boy from Madras, with an amazing CV, as the CEO for AirAsia India.

Revealing the identity of the AirAsia India CEO, he yesterday said the CEO is 32-year-old, Chennai-born Mittu Chandilya, who is currently based in Singapore.
