Google’s new “Solve for X” project dedicated to tackling world's biggest problems
Internet search giant’s attempts to design a website which would serve as a communication channel for "moonshot thinking" have taken the form of its newly-unveiled project called "Solve for X" --- a dedicated website aimed at encouraging problem-solving and teamwork for finding “radical” solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.
Unveiled on early Monday morning, the “Solve of X” website announces that it is “a place where the curious can go to hear and discuss radical technology ideas for solving global problems. Radical in the sense that the solutions could help billions of people. Radical in the sense that the audaciousness of the proposals makes them sound like science fiction.”
According to a YouTube video describing Google’s new "Solve for X" website, the project chiefly underscores a TED-like thinktank boasting a dedicated approach aimed at delivering a "radical solution" for a "huge problem" so as to come up with a "breakthrough technology."
Going by the bits and parts of details that have emerged about the “Solve for X” website, the “radical” visions will be presented on the site in the form of a laser-focused 12-minute monologue to a "highly accomplished group of people" in a conference-like setting.
As per the wordings of a video posted on the site, “Solve for X” is primarily a forum for promoting discussions, and short, technology-rich presentations, about some of the presumably overwhelming issues like climate change or cancer.
