Crompton Greaves Collaborates With Dutch, Italian Firms

In order to enhance its occurrence in lighting space, Electrical equipment manufacturer Crompton Greaves announced that it has partnered with Netherlands-based Lemnis Lighting and Italian firm Fael Luce Lighting.

Crompton Greaves operates three divisions including power systems, industrial systems and consumer products.

Through its grouping with Lemnis Crompton, Crompton would enter the 'LED lights' sector, whereas its affiliation with Fael Luce would assist it tap the outdoor plus stadia lighting space.

Sudhir Trehan, managing director, stated, “Our alliance with Lemnis Lighting in the area of solid-state lighting brings to the consumers the latest technology from the house of Lemnis supplemented by the strength of Crompton Greaves in application engineering and integrated solutions.”

According to the deal, Crompton Greaves and Lemnis would collectively promote LED lighting products in India

At first, the company would import the lighting products. After the sales start rising, the company may produce these products locally, Mr. Trehan said.

But, he did not provide any further details.

Established by decendents of Anton Philips, Lemnis is a top player in the LED-technology space and has light applications for different segments including general lighting, street lighting and greenhouse lighting.

Crompton Greaves’ other deal with Fael Luce is aiming the large infrastructure projects, mainly in the area of sports and aims to offer lighting solutions for the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

“This cooperation commits to make a difference in the provision of integrated solutions in the field of outdoor and stadia lighting,” Trehan said.
