AT&T ranks lowest on consumer satisfaction; still manages to retain customers
The most recent wireless carrier ratings by Consumer Reports (CR) have revealed that AT&T has, for the second consecutive year, been placed right at the bottom, in terms of customer satisfaction.
Despite the fact that AT&T’s somewhat blemished reputation makes it rather unsurprising that AT&T has ranked at the last place in CR ratings, the key reason for the carrier faring badly on the customer satisfaction front is that the widely increased use of smartphones has led to network congestion problems.
In addition, it has also become fairly common to find that the AT&T customers, more often than not, have complaints galore about dropped calls as well as low strength of the signals.
Nonetheless, even though AT&T has been rated the lowest in terms of customer satisfaction, the carrier has been able to retain its customers, in spite of Verizon Wireless getting the iPhone 4. Actually, going by the statistics, AT&T has continued to outperform Verizon when it comes to the figures pertaining to the sales of the iPhone.
That the iPhone sales at AT&T are pretty robust is evident from the fact that the carrier’s Chief Financial Officer John Stephens said in an earlier-this-month announcement at an investor conference that it appeared highly likely that AT&T will break its previous quarterly smartphone sales record of 6.1 million units!
